Seven Plates Surprise Menu in Costa Rica for Adventurous Dinners.

HiR Fine Dining is the creation of Noam Kostucki, a multi-talented artist, entrepreneur and creator. HiR Fine Dining combines refined and luxurious food with a rustic and casual family style environment. This not a standard white tablecloth restaurant. HiR Fine Dining is an intimate 3h dining experience for up to 12 guests per night. If you chose to join this culinary adventure, you will be taken on journey that integrates opposites.

DINING IN THE JUNGLE

A wooden rustic table is set up outside so that guests can truly experience being in nature while eating fine dining. The restaurant hosts dog, three cats and is often visited by howler monkeys and other animals.

EATING AT A CHEF’S HOME

HiR Fine Dining is where Noam Kostucki lives every day. He opens his home for up to 12 people per night to experience the magic he creates in the kitchen. The tables are set right outside of the kitchen so that you can see and talk to Noam as he’s cooking for you. There is no staff at HiR Fine Dining: everything is done by Noam, from cooking to serving, cleaning and answering your requests for reservation.

The 7 plates surprise menu at HiR Fine Dining changes according to seasons, the best produce available, my moods, and the favorite dishes guests select at the end of each dinner. Each dinner is an adventure for guests as well as for me. Most dinners follow a more of less set pattern:

1. First Amuse Bouche - Literally translated from French as "Mouth Entertainment". The purpose of this first course is to stimulate the palate and set the tone for the rest of the dinner.

2. Second Amuse Bouche - This second dish is generally light and fresh, continuing to prepare the palate and stomach for the rest of the dinner to make us feel satisfied but not heavy.

3. First Hors d'Oeuvre - Literally translated from French as "Oustide of the Artwork" - This is a side dish with entertaining and fun flavors that's the final step before more serious dishes.

4. Apetizer - This dish opens bolder flavors and dishes that bring a deeper level of intensity.

5. First Main - This dish become more dense in flavor and significance. It prepares us for the climax of the second main.

6. Second Main - The final course of the savory part of the dinner is generally a rich explosion of flavor.

7. Desert - The closure of the dinner is like a prologue. This is a gentle dish that's friendly, pleasant and fun way to wrap the adventure.

ON RESERVATION ONLY

Because it is Noam’s home, HiR Fine Dining is not a walk in restaurant. Reservation has to be made a minimum of 48h before the dinner, ideally 1 week or more before. Before a reservation is confirmed, Noam calls every guests to talk about the experience, dietary restrictions and transportation. Dinners are confirmed when payment has been received.

We travel the world as a family and unanimously agreed that this dining experience was hands down the best one of our lives. This experience is loads better (and more memorable) than a broadway play.

Noam loves to talk directly with people a lot more than interacting with a machine. Noam is the only person who works at HiR Fine Dining and you're invited to his home. The only way to come for dinner at HiR Fine Dining is to have a conversation with Noam so that he can talk with you about the dining experience, availability, dietary restrictions, transportation, wine and payment.

CALL NOAM - the very best way to make a reservation is to call Noam directly on his mobile. The best number is (+506) 7223 6697 (regular phone and whatsapp). For Americans and Canadians who can't do international calls, you can call (+1) 650 550 0578.

MESSAGE NOAM ON FACEBOOK - the second best way is to initiate a conversation on the Facebook page for HiR Fine Dining using the "message" button below or by visiting www.facebook.com/hirfinedining.

FILL IN THE CONTACT FORM - on the reservation page, there is a contact form with all the basic questions for you to answer. Make sure to include a working phone number and an email to contact you at. If Noam hasn't been able to reach you after 3 phone calls, your request for reservation will be cancelled.

MAKE A RESERVATION ON OPENTABLE - for those who like using OpenTable, you can make a reservation through the widget below or the OpenTable website / mobile app. Note that when you make a reservation with OpenTable, it does NOT confirm your seating. You still need to provide a working phone number and an email to contact you at. If I haven't been able to reach you after 3 phone calls, I will cancel your request for reservation.

  • Dinners start at 5pm and finish around 8pm. This allows guests to arrive when it is still daylight, see the beautiful change of lights during sunset and leave when it is dark night.
  • Dinners are $145 per person, and always paid in advance.
  • Wine is not included in the dinner. Wine can be either brought with a corkage fee or purchased at the dinner.
  • HiR dinners are paid in advance. Payment can be made through Debit / Credit card (6.5% transaction fee), Paypal (3% transaction fee) or Bank Transfer / Deposit (no transaction fee)

I am an explorer, a creator and a guide. I love to try new experiences, and then create similar adventures where I can guide others.

In everything I am and do, I'm naturally drawn to bringing things together that normally are not supposed to.

I have no formal culinary training and never worked in a restaurant before starting HiR Fine Dining. I have worn a lot of different hats, and my main professional background is in business coaching. My first call of fame was at the age of 23 for a TED talk about "selfishness is the best reason to cooperate".

HiR Fine Dining is luxurious fine dining in a casual, rustic and family style environment. You are invited to my home, and I do evertyhing... from cooking to clearning, answering the phone and even cleaning the bathroom.

I cook with the freshest produce I can find, and I create dinner based on the season, my inspiration, and the dishes guests selected as their favorite at the end of each dinner. Each dinner is a full adventure for guests, and as well as for me.
