A problem in our community and our part to the solution

“When I transitioned at the age of 23, it felt that for transgender women like me, the only career options were performing or sex work. An amazing transwoman I met taught me how to find clients, price my services and make money. That’s how I became financially independent. I could work when I wanted, I made good money and I traveled all over the place.

After 7 years, I got depressed and worried I would die escorting. The worst part was not being able to tell my family how I was making a living. If the transwomen around me had been running tech companies, my life would have been very different.

I am now building a network of investors and companies who want to help transgender and non-binary entrepreneurs. I want to give the next generation the opportunity to grow businesses they can be proud of.

As a transwoman, I feel that too much attention is focused on our bodies and not enough on our brains: it is time to change the conversation and show the world that being gender non-conforming does not mean we are less capable of growing successful companies.”

Nadia McCullough, co-founder HiR Transcenders

PROBLEM

Too many transgender and non-binary people struggle to get jobs because they don't fit within the constraints of a regular corporate career. For too many transgender women, the best way to make money is too often limited to the sex and entertainment industry. Transitioning and finding our identities often makes it uncomfortable to find “regular” jobs for “regular” people.

SOLUTION

We have built a network of investors, advisors, coaches and service providers who want to help transgender and non-binary entrepreneurs with growing their businesses. The bigger transgender and non-binary people grow their businesses, the more positive visibility it gives our community in the media and the more job opportunities it gives our community.

VISION

We see a world in which transgender and non-binary people are associated with successful entrepreneurs. We see our media channels featuring our community as role models in business, science, politics, and across all industries. We want transgender and non-binary people to have a network of successful peers to go to for inspiration, advice and contacts. We want transgender and non-binary people to know that we can build successful businesses. We want our community to know where to go for help to start and grow a business even if you have no academic education or so-called “professional experience”. By growing successful businesses, transgender and non-binary people will obtain positions of influence and power that they can use to pay it forward and help our entire community.

TERMINOLOGY AGNOSTIC

The purpose of this program is NOT to create the best and most accepted definition of the word transgender. Whatever word we use and definition we give it, some will feel excluded and some will be unhappy. Our purpose is to support a community that is not receiving enough help, and that faces challenges due to their gender identity. For this program, we use the word TRANSCENDERS because we will accept applications  from anyone who closely or loosely transcends binary socially accepted gender identity.

This includes people who have made a permanent transition, as well as people in the process of transitioning. We will also include people who make temporary transitions like transvestites, drag queens, gender fluid, androgynous, and anyone else who see them-selves outside of the socially accepted binary gender norms. We will require each applicant to give an insight into their own gender identity to give each investor an understanding of where they stand and how they see themselves. Each investor will be able to make their own decisions as to whether they are willing to support individual TRANSCENDERS.

Transgender Woman and Non-Binary Cis Man Co-Founders

“I identify as a transgender female. At 16 I came out as a gay male which was my first major transition in life. At age 23, I introduced the woman I knew I was inside, to my family and the world.” Nadia McCullough

“I lived most of my life as a straight while male, but I never understood the division of genders. I’ve always felt like there’s a man and a woman living in me. I am amazingly grateful to Nadia who helps me integrate my opposites.” Noam Kostucki

“I worked as an escort for 7 years. At first it was liberating, but eventually it became depressing. Through meeting Noam I discovered I could transition my experience to a different industry. I left the world of escorting to work in a high end New York fashion boutique. It is now my mission to create a future of successful gender creative entrepreneurs. ” Nadia McCullough

“I was a marginalized kid and I had problems with administration. I was different and couldn’t see myself work for a large corporation. I dropped out of university and spent the past 15 years helping people grow organizations and making ideas reality. I am now excited to bring to my transgender and non-binary community the tools and networks used to build successful companies.” Noam Kostucki

ONE YEAR INTENSIVE BUSINESS GROWTH PROGRAM

I was failing in school, I almost got kicked out twice and I dropped out of university. Since then, I published five books, I spoke at Harvard about entrepreneurship and I was named UK Business Speaker of the Year runner up.

I spent the past 15 years teaching people to grow organizations and make money. I love helping people grow successful companies because being your own boss is the biggest freedom. When you become an entrepreneur, you become your own master.

If you have a business idea, follow the “how to” guides and start building the first steps of your business. If you have an existing business, fill in the application form. Once we receive it, we’ll give you feedback on what you need to change to be investment ready.

Not only participants of this program will get my one on one support, but they will also get the help from our network of partners, supporters, investors and service providers. These help will happen in the form of loans, equity investments, contacts, expertise, discounted services and strategic partnerships.

Participants on this program will join a group of 6 amazing transgender and non-binary entrepreneurs for a year of intense growth. Joining this program will change your life and accelerate your growth as an entrepreneur.

One Year Intensive Business Coaching Program
for 6 Passionate Entrepreneurs

HiR Transcenders’ coaching program will be run by Noam Kostucki whose time is limited. Due to the program being highly discounted, there can be space only for 6 people. This good news is that the final six participants will be the ones who have the most interest from investors and show the most potential for fast growth.

People who don’t make it to the one year intensive coaching program will be invited to join an online version of the program. We are working on creating content and self-guided courses that people can join to get ready for investment, grow their business, and create more revenue. More information will be posted as soon as the online program is ready. If you want to help create content, tell us about how you can help through the contact us page.

PITCHING TO INVESTORS AND RAISING FUNDS

We have build a network of investors who will look at your business plans and listen to your pitches. We will help you get ready for conversations with investors so that you maximize your chances of success. We will also explore with you all the different ways you can raise money to grow your company. Will talk about crowdfunding of different kind, getting loans, giving away equity, royalty and commission deals.

Remember that investment is not always the best option and that diluting your company may not be the best way for you to grow. Whatever is the best option for you, we will help you figure out. At the end of the program, we will create another round of conversations with investors so that you can pitch again for your next stage of growth.

SCHOLARSHIP AND PROGRAM TUITION

The coaching fees for a program like would normally be $18,000 per person. We want to make it easier for transgender and non-binary people to get this level of support, so we’re offering a $12,000 scholarship to anyone from our community.

This leaves $6,000 each participant has to pay to take part in this intensive business coaching program. For some this won’t be a problem and for others this may seem like an impossible challenge.

It is important for us that this is not a charity program. We want entrepreneurs to know they have created this opportunity themselves and that they are capable of creating money. An MBA program costs on average $50,000 per year, and unlike universities, not only we will help participants figure out ways to raise their tuition but we will put you in front of investors and by the end of the year your business will have grown in revenue and profit.

Our belief is that if you really have a business that is worth investing in, with our help you will be able to create the $6,000 needed to join this program. Through our network of investors, you may get funding much larger within weeks of signing up and through our guidance, you will increase sales so that you can recover the money as quickly as possible.

If you are truly motivated and committed, we will help you grow your business and make more money than you did before.

Are you ready to invest in yourself?

Seven Steps Selection Process

Application Form

BE 1 OF 6 TO GET FUNDING

AND BUSINESS COACHING

Seven Steps Selection Process

  1. Short Application Form

The first step of your application process is a short form to tell us about your business idea and about yourself.

  2. Interview with Nadia McCullough

Applicants that have business potential and raise our interest will be interviewed by Nadia, transwoman and co-founder of HiR Transcenders. This first interview is to assess your ability to share your story and talk about your business.

  3. Detailed Business Outline, Investment Plan and Video Interview

Successful interviews fill in a detailed form that goes through a wide overview of their business, traction, projections, investment needs and strategic plans. Applicants also record a video about their experience as gender non-conforming entrepreneurs to assess their ability to connect with an audience.

  4. Business and Pitch Coaching with Noam Kostucki

Successful applicants will go through a series of strategic and pitch coaching conversations with Noam Kostucki, non-binary cis-man and founder of HiR Transcenders. The purpose of these coaching sessions is (1) to make the business investment ready and (2) to test the coaching relationship.

  5. First Selection by Investors

When applicants have answers to all basic questions required by investors and a good pitch, they are presented to investors. Each investor will say whether they are interested or not by each business, and send questions for the entrepreneur.

  6. Payment of the $6,000 tuition

Applicants that have the most interests investors will be given the questions asked by the investors and offered a place on the program. If money is a problem for you, talk about it with Nadia and Noam, and they will help you find ways to create the money you need.

Note that there is no guarantee that the investor will make an investment. Parameters may include problems with due diligence or that you refuse the investor’s proposal. Even if investment is not found with the first round of investors, it does not mean everything is lost: one of Noam Kostucki’s coaching client raised $500,000 in 8 weeks (read the story here). Participants will have one year of intense work to grow revenue and continuously pitch to investors. At the end of the year, there will also be a second round of pitching to a larger group of investors.

  7. Start of the Coaching Program and Pitch to Investors

The coaching program will start with an intensive retreat in Costa Rica to finalize the pitch to investors and prepare to respond to questions about the business. Each entrepreneur will pitch to investors and get an opportunity to talk about the different aspects of the business. Investors will make an offer where they see fit and entrepreneurs will get to negotiate these offers. Investments will take place after investors have conducted their due diligence.
