What is “HiR”?
Please allow me to take you on a short journey.
When I was a child, I was told I had to become a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer, a teacher or some other McDonald-style pre-packaged happy meal.
I wanted to be an explorer, and a warrior, and an inventor, and help people, and build cool things, and have fun doing things with people I love. None of the things I wanted were available in a school or university curriculum, and I didn’t have any adult role models for the kind of life I wanted.
I was considered problematic because I didn’t want to sit in a classroom or office, and be told what to do all day. I tried to be “normal” and it sucked the life out of me.
I broke away from the conventional approach and decided to make “living a great life” my purpose. To me, that means contributing to making the world a better place while growing professionally and enjoying the experience of living.
Over the past 14 years, I have directly helped over 30,000 people from all over the world. I started to work on improving myself to help others. As a result, I received international recognition in judo, acting, public speaking, business coaching, corporate training, life coaching, charity fundraising, book writing, photography, entrepreneurship and cooking.
I learned to we can be anything we want. We can grown the freedom to follow our passions and live with purpose. I believe that everyone can experience life as an extraordinary adventure.
Today, I create spaces for people to explore different ways of being. I do this primarily by integrating opposites. I bring together things that are normally not supposed to be together. What I create is both temporary and permanent. It is temporary in that each adventure many be available only for a certain amount of time, and it is permanent in that the changes that happens to people affects who they are forever. That change is permanent not only to that one individual but also to everyone to get in contact with.
HiR is the encounter between “him” and “her”, which is the integration of opposites. HiR is read “here” because it is a place in our mind where there is no noise, where we can be alone and where we can think and feel clearly. HiR also stands for “Human Intelligence Redefined” because when we define our intelligence based on our uniqueness and passion, we become far more capable and valuable.
I broke away from the conventional way of approaching career and life, and I made it one same thing. Oscar Wild said “be yourself, everyone else is taken”. The one thing we can all be the best at is being ourselves, because nobody else can do that. When we find what makes us special, unique and different, we can create value nobody else can replicate.
Every year, my attention shifts focus depending on what is most exciting to me, and most relevant to the world around me.
Right now, my attention is most actively focused on two experiences:
HiR Fine Dining, a jungle culinary adventure in which I invite guests to my home in Costa Rica to taste a 7 plates discovery menu. I had never cooked in a restaurant before and within six months of opening one of the plates I created this HiR Fine Dining was selected as one of “25 dishes to travel around the world for” by OpenTable… out of 40,000 restaurants. I am also proud to say that out of 62 reviews, 61 are five stars and 1 four stars.
HiR Transcenders, a business coaching program supported by a network of investors exclusively for transgender and non-binary people. Born from my relationship with Nadia, the transwoman I live and work with, HiR Transcenders is about giving gender non-conforming people opportunities to grow businesses and network with influencers like I used to do when I lived as a straight cis-white male. We already have 3 investors on board and participants on this program will also be featured in a mini-documentary about transgender and non-binary entrepreneurs.
